Safe & Together Institute - Family courts’ decisions related to domestic violence and child abuse have tremendous impact on the lives of adult and child survivors. These decisions are suppose to serve the “best interests” of the children in these families. Yet, as research indicates, reports of domestic violence and child abuse are more likely to be disbelieved than believed by family courts. LISTEN.

FORBES - In the case of Woody Allen, a New York State Supreme Court judge awarded custody of all the children of Ms. Farrow and Mr. Allen to Ms. Farrow notwithstanding that the investigation against him was deemed “Unfounded.” The outcome in Ms. Farrow’s case is unusual. In a study by Professor Joan Meier, The George Washington University Law School, mothers who make allegations of sexual abuse are credited as truthful 19% of the time. READ MORE.
